They probably attract fewer people than the pop artists of Victoires de la Musique, but are just as prestigious. The Victoires du Jazz have just unveiled the list of nominees for the 2020 edition. The winners of the prize list will be unveiled this fall in a documentary broadcast on France Télévisions.

Pianists take the lion's share with four nominations in the instrumental artist category, including Christophe Chassol, Laurent Coulondre, Paul Lay and Jacky Terrasson. As for revelations, pianist Macha Gharibian will be opposed to saxophonists Christophe Panzani and Jon Boutellier. The troubadour of the Basque country André Minvielle will have a hard time coping with the velvet voices of Lou Tavano and Leila Martial in the vocal artist category.
Note the presence of Magma in the group category. Faced with the Zeuhl group, the Dal Sasso Big Band, the National Jazz Orchestra and the Viret Trio. Flamenco, fado and African music will be at the rendezvous in the world music category with Blick Bassy, Angélique Kadji, Lina_Raül Refree or Rocio Marquez.
