Capers producers, first and important goal achieved
The Aeolian caper becomes "Dop". "It is with great satisfaction - says Aldo Natoli, president of the local association of caper producers - that we welcome the news of the publication in the Official Journal of the European Union of the Implementing Regulation with which the registration of the caper of the Aeolian islands DOP is available in the register of protected designations of origin. Our product thus achieves a first and important objective: the valuable recognition of the quality certification which testifies to the typicality of the caper whose characteristics are inextricably linked to the environment and our territory ". "This is obviously a first step - he specifies - which projects us towards further projects that will see us engaged in the near future to protect and enhance the Aeolian Islands DOP caper and offer consumers our quality product. the attribution of the protected designation of origin undoubtedly represents a new possibility of development and growth for the territory by supporting and favoring all operators already involved in the production chain and for those who want to use this opportunity in the future ".
