Coach John Altobelli died in the accident where Kobe Bryant also lost his life, and this Friday he would have turned 57.

The daughter of Kobe Bryant , Natalia , paid tribute to coach John Altobelli , who died in the unfortunate helicopter crash where his father and sister Gigi also killed.

John was the baseball coach at Orange Coast College and on Friday he would have turned 57, so the daughter of the former basketball player paid him a small tribute through social networks.

Natalia, 17, shared a photo of Altobelli in the Stories section on her Instagram account, along with the words "Happy Birthday Mr. Alto" and a heart emoji.

In the image, the coach is smiling on a baseball field in the uniform of the Orange Coast College Pirates, a team with which he won numerous state and conference championship titles.

John was traveling in the helicopter that collapsed on January 26, and he was accompanied by his wife Keri and daughter Alyssa , who unfortunately also lost their lives.

For his part, the Orange Coast College Instagram account also shared a post in honor of the coach, and wrote "Happy Birthday Alto," while his brother Tony Altobelli recalled it through an emotional request on Facebook, encouraging users to toast for him.

"I don't care if you knew him or not ... toast people! The world is depressing enough these days. We're going to bring John a drink. That's what he would want. Cheers to everyone," he wrote.

In January Altobelli was honored at the Pirates season opener. All team members wore number 14, and fans in the stands took a moment of silence before the first pitch to remember their coach.

John's birthday comes a day after Vanessa Bryant filed a legal claim regarding a collection of unauthorized photographs taken by Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officials, showing the aftermath of the accident.

The claim, obtained by People , seeks damages for emotional distress and mental anguish after the revelation that eight Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department agents took graphic photographs of the victims and shared them with unauthorized persons.

This happened despite Vanessa speaking personally with Sheriff Alex Villanueva on the morning of the accident to request that the site's privacy be ensured.
