Hamburg (dpa / tmn) - Even from one employee, a company must also provide occupational health care. That explains the administrative professional association (VBG) on its portal "Certo". The rule also applies to every location of a company.

Company doctors take care of health issues in the company and advise both the company and the employees. In order to ensure care, the responsible doctor does not have to be permanently on site.

Company doctors, for example, participate in the preparation of risk assessments, observe and evaluate the accident and illness events and take care of the preventive measures. To do this, they must know the company - and have made at least one site inspection.

According to the information, occupational medicine tasks may only be performed by doctors with the specialist title "occupational medicine" or the additional title "company medicine". However, specially licensed doctors can also be used by the state authorities or professional associations.

The conversations between employees and the company doctor are confidential, as are the findings.
