As a reminder of the facts, in an article published in April 2018, The Sun had presented as a proven fact the actions of the Pirates of the Caribbean star against the one who was then his wife the American actress Amber Heard (having since played in the film Aquaman ), stating in writing that Johnny Depp would have hit her.

The Heard-Depp couple had divorced their parents in early 2017, just over a year after their marriage. The 34-year-old actress then spoke of "years" of " physical and psychological " violence , which Johnny Depp strongly denies.

A written testimony

Johnny Depp's lawyers asked Vanessa Paradis to testify during the trial, which was scheduled to take place in mid-March at the London High Court, but which was postponed until July due to the coronavirus epidemic.

“I have known Johnny for over 25 years. We have been together for 14 years and we have raised our two children together, ” recalled the French actress in written testimony to the proceedings.

During all these years, Johnny has been a kind, attentive, generous and non-violent man and father.
