The requests of the city councilors flood the offices of the prefects who must sign the authorizations. But everywhere the same constraint, the range must be "dynamic".

A funny concept first worn in France by the surfing federation, on the model of several countries which had already adopted it. Athletes are indeed natural beneficiaries of this relaxation of measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus.

Surfing yes, sunbathing and picnicking no

"The sports movement like other users demanded the distinction between the static beach for tanning and reading activities and the so-called dynamic beach which opens access to the sea, explains Denis Masseglia, president of the National Olympic and Sports Committee French (CNOSF). No festive gathering

"Access to the beaches meets a need to maintain economic and tourist attractiveness," said the prefect in his decree, which also requires municipalities to specify the rules and procedures to follow at the entrance to the beaches. Measures that should multiply from this weekend from the North Sea to the Mediterranean. Manage the influx during big weekends

For many elected officials, it is indeed a question of satisfying both a population which has long demanded to return to the beaches and to gradually loosen the economic shackles of containment. "We can reopen the beach, this is not where there is the most risk for the development of the Covid, says Gérard Napias, the mayor of Lit-et-Mix (Landes), who is waiting for a return of his request for exemption.
