Not only Netflix series run the risk of being prematurely discontinued. Now there are two brand new productions available on Prime Video.

- The first seasons of the two productions are available on Amazon Prime Video .
- The two series are based on well-known film series.
Anyone who has discovered a new series for themselves must fear after each season. The reason : not all productions get new seasons. Instead, TV stations and streaming services sold a large number of series after a few episodes. It is a necessary step for the individual companies, since some new releases simply do better than others.
Occasionally, however, series are affected that appear promising at first glance - for example the action and horror hits "Treadstone" and "The Purge" .

The series offer on Prime Video * is reduced because the American broadcaster USA Network has sold "The Purge" and "Treadstone" . Incidentally, since these are not Amazon's own productions, the media company had no influence on the fate of the series.
"The Purge" is based on the horror franchise of the same name, which now includes four films. The history of the films and series revolves around an annual event that allows people to commit all conceivable crimes . As a rule, there are a large number of murders, which particularly affect lower social classes. The series was discontinued after two seasons.
"Treadstone" takes place in the Jason Bourne universe and tells the origins of a CIA program that creates superhuman soldiers. Despite the connection to the successful film series, the series only managed one season.

That is why "Treadstone" and "The Purge" were discontinued
The most common reason for discontinuing series is high production costs, which are not offset by the number of viewers. In the case of the two series, this does not necessarily apply. As Screen Rant reports, USA Network is currently switching its program to live shows and reality TV series . For fictional productions there are therefore hardly any slots left.
Another series by the station is the cheerleading drama "Dare Me" *. This production was also discontinued after only one season . In Germany it is available on Netflix *.
