2020-05-19T15:38:05.045Z

If you are traveling more than 100 km or out of the department, each passenger must have a certificate and supporting documents

Every day, Le Parisien mobilizes to answer your questions around the coronavirus. Today we are interested in William's question: "What is the rule now for two people who are together in the same vehicle and who do not have the same address?" "

"It is no longer necessary to leave your home to have a certificate," recalls the Ministry of the Interior, except, he said, "for a trip outside his department and to 'a distance greater than 100 km as the crow flies from the place of residence'.

For these exceptions, Beauvau adds that "it is advisable to have the travel declaration outside your department and more than 100 km from your residence", as well as an identity document and the necessary supporting documents. As a reminder, only travel related to professional, imperative needs (help for vulnerable people), health, school or related to summons of police, gendarmerie or justice are authorized beyond 100 km.

Taxi or VTC, strict rules

Another scenario that could require the presence of two people with a different address on board a vehicle: carpooling, or taxi or VTC trips. Again, the certification rule for journeys over 100 km remains. "There should only be one passenger per seat, and no one should sit next to the driver", or, for taxis and hybrid bikes "two people can sit in the back seat, provided that "They live in the same home and a transparent wall separates the driver from the passengers," also insists the Ministry of the Interior.

It also indicates that it is compulsory to wear a mask from 11 years old in the vehicle. Last obligations: “The car must be permanently ventilated and, when leaving the vehicle, you must take all your waste. "
