The barbie club schedule is full and tickets are being purchased • Lola Marsh: "There is no fear of showing up, there is a fear of not showing up" | Music

More and more bands are filling in the bar club's show schedule and music fans are already buying tickets

In less than a month, the closure will end following the Corona crisis. After months, we can go back to music and party. But is the Israeli public ready to rally again without fear?

Only today (Tuesday) was it learned that Tel Aviv is very close to entering the list of red cities alongside Bnei Brak and Beit Shemesh, due to the high morbidity rate in the city. However, the photos from the beaches and private pool parties have proven time and time again that Tel Aviv masses have long since quarantined. Now, it turns out, the public is also not particularly worried about being together in closed clubs to finally experience a real, crowded and happy pastime.

"I don't think we need to understand that the public is choking on his house. He is already pointing his feet and going to the sea, to the street and to the markets," says Shaul Mizrahi, the owner of the Southern Barbecue Club and one of the strong voices in the protest, the halls and the cultural industry.

After months when the place was deserted and its schedule only promised a refund for canceled shows, more and more events were added to the veteran club's schedule. In the first weekend after the closure ended, three shows were sequenced, and tickets can be purchased for dozens of performances throughout the month. Moreover, Mizrahi is already showing good ticket sales now, despite the challenges of the period.

"In accordance with the government's decision to return to full activity on the week of June 14, we open the weekend of that week," says Mizrahi. "By the end of June there will be individual shows to allow the audience to adapt, but immediately return to full routine, July schedule. August is already full. "

Buying tickets now, despite the situation?

"To my great delight, the audience is pointing their feet. It seems that the first weekend of returning to the routine will be a solo outing for all three shows and I wish I would not lose."

This is not at all obvious.

"True, I think there will even be foreign media coverage on the first show. We are very important in our doing because we are the right marker that should make the public feel back to normal. In my opinion, a full Barbie should return a sense of security to the public, in my opinion at least. One caveat is that this is a relatively young and difficult audience To know what the older population's response will be. "

Can a full return to routine in mid-June and sold-out performances make up for the damage done to the industry in recent months?

"What a sudden! Not in life! The damage is enormous. It's unthinkable that if we went back to work and be immersed in work to lift ourselves back, forgotten about what we deserve and the government's duty to give it to us. It's inconceivable that they closed a business that made a lot of money The state and so many people employed and during the Korna I had to close and not compensate us. There is an outline of March and April - which, by the way, we are still waiting for money under the agreement, and will also be an outline for May and June and we will not change them for any reason. If we don't get everything we deserve we will have to go to court. "

One of the bands that are already preparing themselves for a performance at the Barbi Club is Lola Marsh (July 22, tickets on the Barbi website).

"The last period was not easy," says composition soloist Yael Shoshana Cohen. "We were in the middle of a big column in Europe when the whole corona started, we had to cancel most of the column, go back to Israel and get in isolation. This situation is very strange to us, we haven't been here for so long and it's not simply mental and financial. We hope our audience will fully come to Barbi and future shows, and that we will come back to perform in Israel and abroad and do what we know and love to do. "

Have you been surprised that tickets are being sold at this time?

"We were not surprised at all. It is true that some people have been traumatized by this situation, and it will take time for them to feel comfortable in a room full of people, but a lot of them just get hungry for shows and outings, just want to hear music with their friends in a shared space or sit in a show or in a coffee shop. I I personally really miss it and re-evaluate every little recreation, especially that in the recent period of going to the writer we will be the highlight of my day. "

And among the band, is there no fear of returning?

"We have no fear of coming back. There is no fear of not coming back."
