"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is one of the most successful titles for the Nintendo Switch. The game offers numerous elements that are completely new to the Zelda series. The fresh coat of paint was very well received by the fans, after which Nintendo announced a direct "Breath of the Wild" sequel last year. Since then, however, the title has remained calm. At least there is now a little information about it - but "Zelda" fans will probably not like it.
"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2" will not be released before March 2021
Nintendo recently announced last quarter's financial results at an investor meeting (via DualSchockers). At this meeting, the company also gave an outlook for the coming fiscal year, which will last until March 31, 2021. Part of this was also the listing of the Nintendo Switch titles to be released during this period. These include "Xenoblade Definitive Edition" or DLCs for "Animal Crossing *", "Pokémon Sword and Shield *", "Luigi's Mansion 3 *" and "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate *" - from a " Zelda: Breath." of the Wild 2 "is missing any trace.
It is therefore clear that the sequel will only come onto the market after March 31, 2021 . In all likelihood, fans will have to be patient for at least another year. At the moment it is difficult to estimate when a release can be expected, since Nintendo is badly affected by the corona virus crisis. This is currently leading to bottlenecks in the switch consoles, which are sold out in many places.

"Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2" will be a direct sequel
The announcement for " Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 " came as a surprise last year. As part of E3 2019, Nintendo unexpectedly presented the trailer , which at first glance looks more like an announcement of a DLC for the first part. But in fact at the end of the video it says that a sequel to "Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is already in development.
It is also unusual that it is a direct continuation of a "Zelda" game. Usually, each part tells its own story, which always follows the same pattern: The player takes on the role of Link, who has to protect the kingdom of Hyrule together with Princess Zelda from the villain Ganon.
There was a direct continuation of the story at " Majora's Mask ", which followed on from the end of " Ocarina of Time ". So this will also be the case with " Breath of the Wild 2 ". How exactly that will happen is still unclear. So far, the only official information about the game can only be found in the trailer.
