(ANSA) - MILAN, MAY 20 - After the great success at the cinemadel docufilm (blockbuster in February) taken from the recently rediscovered filmmaker of DeAndrèé's historic Genoa concert with PFM, Sony Music is now publishing the original soundtrack. The box will be available from 22 May in all digital stores and traditional stores, in two versions: CD with booklet, and double LP.
For the first time, the concert of 3 January 1979 at Pavilion C of the Fiera di Genova can be heard in full and with a quality never heard before. The inter-recording is published in very high quality, thanks to a meticulous and important restoration and mastering work (by Lorenzo Cazzaniga and Paolo Piccardo).
Listening to "The rediscovered concert" you can relive one of the highest moments of the music of our country, transformed forever by the unrepeatable artistic partnership, unique in history, between one of the greatest ever Italian artists and the best known Italian rock band at world. The Genoa livery brings to mind the suggestions of an era of immense social transformations and ideological ferments, a huge amount of creative energy that found its most disruptive and innovative expression in music. Only in 1975 Fabrizio De André decided to perform in public performing his repertoire almost exclusively in the original version.
In 1978 Franz Di Cioccio convinced him to go on a long tour with PFM, who arranged his songs in a rock key. So that De André returned to his city for that concert in the hearts of all.
The meticulous restoration and mastering of the Genoa livery was carried out with the constant aim of focusing on the rare vocal greatness of Fabrizio De André from a timbre, expressive and interpretative point of view. The concert had been recorded with a multi-track technique. The audioera is almost totally monophonic and in some parts completely distorted. After an initial restoration of the material, the conditions of that time were recreated.
