(ANSA) - VATICAN CITY, MAY 20 - Avoiding "irreversible damage" to works of art in churches.
   The appeal comes from the Pontifical Council for Culture. "There have been reports from many quarters that the disinfection of the environment, vestments and sacred vessels for worship, necessary in this period of sanitary emergency, and probably even for a long time, in some cases has been carried out through the use of detergents not suitable for objects of "art and benicultural", reports a note from the Pontifical Council itself which publishes a vademecum which explains in detail how to treat and with what specific products the works of art and historical imanufacts present in many churches. Above all, bleach. All this "to avoid causing irreversible damage to the most precious and delicate objects present in our churches".
