Residents of the neighborhood "heard booms" and saw "impressive flames". The barrier of Jean-Claude Villemain's home was also damaged by the fire for which three people were arrested.
The city's official sees a link between the arson and "the curfew taken to ensure the rules of containment and undermine a number of parallel businesses". This fire is proof according to the municipal magistrate that "these measures" annoy the traffickers.
Another mayor vehicle had already been targeted by an arson attack in December 2019.
