The Corona epidemic has created an economic crisis in many areas, among other things, which has also caused difficulties in the fashion sector. A unique project is trying to connect customers with Israeli fashion designers, offering sales on the roofs of houses. Behind the initiative are two stylists, Gili Sivan-Cohen and Carmit Efrati.

"Before Corona, I worked around the clock, and suddenly projects were stopped and productions canceled. As a living and breathing area, we have seen the difficulty of fashion designers surviving despite the return to routine over the past two months. Customers do not come to stores and studios, and it is very sad to see fashion designers working all winter on trendy items. Beautiful, standing and waiting, I felt that we had to do something, "says Sivan Cohen.

Tonight Sivan-Cohen is hosting the first meeting on the roof of her home in Givatayim, tomorrow the venture will be moving to the roof of a house in Ra'anana, and next week is expected to continue for more homes. Sivan - Cohen and Efrati hope the initiative will continue and gain momentum. "I do the opening shot on the roof of my house with collections of about ten designers, including: Rumah, Noy Shachar, Yoav Meir, Michal Monka and more. We call on the public to support and promote small businesses and young Israeli fashion."

Fashion designer Yoav Meir talks about the stylist's initiative, "It's a very welcome initiative as the Corona has stopped opening many fashion designers this season. I have a collection I have been working on all winter, an eco collection with items that are 100 percent cotton and natural fabrics, and this is an investment of tens of thousands NIS. " Meir adds that recently the thought of leaving the world of personal creation also arose. "It's hard to survive only as a fashion designer in the country in general and these days. From time to time I go through what to continue, but fortunately I really like the field and even manage to make a living."

Designer Ruma has been in the fashion business for 30 years with 11 stores nationwide. "There is a terrible sense of helplessness, uncertainty and abandonment of the state. I have long-time employees who have worked with me for 30 years, and I have a responsibility for them. My collection has been ready for six months. A lot of designers in a difficult situation that we don't even have the strength to call."
