According to the latest figures from the Directorate General of Health, the total number of people hospitalized in connection with the Covid-19 remains

In the middle of the Ascension weekend and while the second week of deconfinement is close to ending, we will have to wait a bit to know the number of new deaths. In its now daily press release, the Directorate General of Health announced that Santé Publique France will not deliver the next data on mortality until next Monday.

The total number of deaths in our possession therefore remains 28,215 since the start of the epidemic two and a half months ago in France.

36 new admissions

According to the assessment of the day, 1701 patients are currently supported in the intensive care units in France. In the space of 24 hours, there are 36 new serious cases admitted, but the balance is still negative as it has been for several weeks, with 44 patients less this Friday, according to the DGS.

The number of people hospitalized in connection with the Covid-19 remains high: 17,383 people are currently being treated in a hospital establishment after being infected. There have been 263 new admissions recorded in the past 24 hours, but again the balance is still trending down.

The DGS stresses its concern about an increased risk of contamination in the coming days. "In this extended weekend, where many people will see their loved ones, we must therefore be very vigilant," she insists.
