This is the story of Davide Mattiello, a former deputy and member of the parliamentary anti-mafia commission in the Letta, Renzi and then Gentiloni governments, today an ecological operator in Turin.
A "choice of field", his, "to find people flesh and blood, the suburbs, the road". To "be free, independent of politics, not blackmailed". And to be cured "from the stress of the labyrinth of words, of the rent of narcissistic position".
On the anniversary of the Capaci massacre, Mattiello explains how his civil commitment was born in 1992 following the death of the judges Falcone and Borsellino and still continues as a consultant to the Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission.
In Turin, Mattiello founded Casa Acmos, an association that promotes the active participation of young people in democratic life: the seat of Acmos, fate wishes, is right in the neighborhood of the city where the former deputy today collects waste on behalf of the Arcobaleno Cooperative . A circle that closes.
