(ANSA) - KABUL, MAY 24 - Afghan President Ashraf Ghanisi is busy this morning to speed up the release of Taliban prisoners after accepting an offer by the insurgents of a three-day ceasefire during the Eid al-Fitr festival.
"As a responsible government, we are going one step further. I announce that I will accelerate the release of the detainees," said Ghani in a speech to the nation.
The president also called on militants to proceed with the release of Afghan security members captured by citizens.
