Chaumont-sur-Loire does not seem to have suffered from confinement. The roses explode after five weeks of early sun. The purple irises pierce the fields of grasses left in wild patches along the rope course, before summer bends them and the gardeners transform them into lawns. By the magic of the places and the will of its director Chantal Colleu-Dumond, the 32 hectares of this green domain always resemble the vegetable paradise in which contemporary art slides smoothly. This illusion of ease, this beautiful art of living offered to the public of the region since May 16, are the fruit of intense work which, like politeness, does not show itself. The result is an arrowed but fluid walk which quickly makes you forget the heavy context of the pandemic. A kind of enchanted parenthesis, despite the unique senses imposed by security, the physical distance that the guards must make respect and the masks of rigor.
Our contemporary art program was 90% ready before containment, which made our opening possible
