Solidarity beyond the immediate emergency, so as not to be caught unprepared by a possible new wave of the epidemic. Verallia, the world's third-largest manufacturer of glass packaging for food, takes the field in favor of six healthcare facilities in Central and Northern Italy with equipment, infrastructures and tools for a value close to € 300,000 that can not only help immediately, but also lasting over time.
Here is the donation of a pediatric fan for the children of the Giannina Gaslini Institute in Genoa and equipment for the ventilation of the children of the Mater Salutis Hospital in Legnago; special stretchers to transport Covid19 patients safely to the San Paolo hospital in Savona and the San Carlo Borromeo hospital in Milan; ultrasound scanners for the hospitalization of patients in the North West Tuscany Local Health Authority and for the San Bortolo Hospital in Vicenza, as well as reagents and equipment for serological tests.
Alongside medical devices, the initiative also presents a technological side, with the installation of a new wi-fi network and the donation of ten tablets that will allow, in the Carlo Poma Hospital in Mantua, more effective and safe communication operators and the possibility for patients to communicate remotely with their relatives.
"Our company, like a good part of the Italian production fabric, is going through a difficult and uncertain period, but it could not escape a moral duty even before civic duty. The dramatic scenes of the last few months are still in the eyes of all of us. the interior of Italian hospitals ", says the managing director of Verallia Italia, Marco Ravasi, explaining that he has tried to" be at the side of each community and territory where one of our factories is located and many of our collaborators live ".
"We believe that there can be no business activity that does not support the communities of which it is an integral part. A commitment that will become increasingly necessary in the months to come - says Ravasi - in which we will all be called to extraordinary efforts to get out of the complex situation in the which the coronavirus has catapulted us. We will have to face an economic emergency never seen before and for this reason we have taken action to allocate additional resources, around 100,000 euros, in favor of realities that will take care of the people in greatest difficulty ".
