Count to Mayors: 'Possibility of a new budget variance'

" I will not allow municipalities to go bankrupt ." According to what is learned, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte in the meeting with the mayors of the metropolitan cities this afternoon.

"I understand that there may be dissatisfaction and also concern on your part - he added - but you must acknowledge that there has never been an underestimation on the great role that you have actually played in this emergency".

Yesterday the thirteen mayors of the metropolitan cities had written to the premier asking for more help to support the services of the Municipalities which, otherwise, they had underlined, risk the lockdown.

" There is the possibility - Conte said in another passage - that a new budgetary variance will be asked in Parliament soon . The president would have explained that the new funds requested by the Municipalities to avoid default will not go into the Relaunch decree but that c 'is the commitment to allocate them with a new provision which, if needed, could also be financed with a new request for a deficit.
