The Greek football championship will resume next week, June 6, obviously behind closed doors. The green light came from the government of Athens, which accepted the unanimous request of the Super League clubs to complete a season interrupted for almost three months due to the coronavirus epidemic.
At the time of the stop, Olympiacos was leading in front of Paok Thessaloniki and Aek Athens. The playoffs that will determine the championship winner and access to the European Cups should be completed by July 19th. The Greek Cup semifinals (Paok-Olympiacos and Aek-Aris Thessaloniki) should instead be played later.
The Greek teams were authorized two weeks ago to resume training, but in compliance with a strict health protocol. A positive swab player would be quarantined at home and the rest of the team should be placed in solitary confinement for five days. So far, no player has tested positive after testing resumed.
