Quarantine separation: what are the types of couples that are in danger?

2020-05-28T14:47:10.824Z

Many couples are choosing to separate after the quarantine experience, but which ones are most at risk and why?

Psychologist Ramón Torres known as the "Guru of Love" and Dr. Cecilia Alegría explained why some couples may be on the brink of separation during isolation from the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Torres, the constant coexistence generated by the quarantine served to confirm, in some cases, that the situation with the couple has not been well for a long time and that the separation is imminent.

"We realized, that relationship is over , that relationship does not work and something key for me from all this is that no one separates if they are happy ... most have to understand that when someone is not happy they have the right to seek their happiness and, normally, with someone who has a toxic relationship or who is always suffering it is not worth following, with coronavirus or without coronavirus, "explained Torres

However, Cecilia Alegría, "Doctor Amor", assures that the pandemic is not the best time to determine that the relationship no longer works and it is better to end it.

According to Alegría, stressors such as economic problems, uncertainty about what is happening worldwide and the lack of job opportunities could generate tension in the relationship, but this does not mean that the love of the couple is over.

"There are external stressors, that level of happiness decreases, because they are tired, because they are stressed, because they are bored", Alegría

The specialist pointed out three types of couples that could be in danger of breaking up during this isolation season:

1. Couples who are influenced by the outside and who do not work as a team.

2. Dysfunctional couples, who have communication problems and cannot reach agreements.

3. Toxic couples, who are the most likely to separate or divorce.

The “Doctor Love” also provided the five main reasons why couples or marriages might think of ending their love:

1. Now that there is time to spare, unresolved conflicts come to light.

2. Boredom can create tension and conflict in couples.

3. More frequent fights due to a high level of frustration.

4. Stress also works against love.

5. Find the easiest way out, in this case the separation or divorce

If you want to rescue your relationship, follow these tips from Dr. Cecilia Alegría to achieve this:

-To distribute equitably housework.

-Reach agreements to discipline children.

-Work on the family budget to avoid stress from the economy at home.

-Accommodate when social networks, mobile devices and television will be used.

-Keep attractive and look good for the couple.

-Improve levels of intimacy, showing affection, kindness and being patient.
