Closed facilities or nurses who have returned to their home: Relatives of those in need of care have to do a lot themselves during the corona pandemic. What support is there?
Düsseldorf (dpa / tmn) - Relatives of people in need of care, physically and mentally handicapped people should be relieved during the corona pandemic. The Consumer Advice Center North Rhine-Westphalia points out on its homepage some new regulations, which are valid until September 30th.
For example, the previous right to a break of one to ten working days to organize care at home in the event of acute care is extended to up to 20 days. The care allowance, which compensates for the missing income for these days, is also paid for up to 20 days. If the 20 days are not enough, employees can also take part of the leave.
Further relief: Those who rely on inpatient short-term care can now find such ad hoc care places in rehabilitation facilities and hospitals. In addition, unused relief services from 2019 can be used until the end of September 2020 - three months longer than before.
