Two weekends for Spoleto Festival

There will be two weekends of the 63rd edition of the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto. It emerged from the Board of Directors of the Foundation which met in video conference. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - SPOLETO (PERUGIA), MAY 28 - There will be two weekends of the 63rd edition of the Festival dei Due Mondi diSpoleto. It emerged from the Board of Directors of the Foundation which met as a video conference.
    The artistic director Giorgio Ferrara presented the program of shows that will take place from 20 to 23 August. There will therefore be eight programming days (20-23 and 27-30 August 2020) and as many shows to be held at the Roman Theater and Piazza Duomo, for a maximum capacity, respectively, of 250 and 400 seats.
    The premiere of the Festival will be held on August 20 (9.30 pm) in Piazza Duomo, with Orfeo by Claudio Monteverdi and the Byzantine Academy directed by Ottavio Dantone. Direction, scenes and costumes by Pier Luigi Pizzi.
    The closing concert is scheduled for Sunday 30 August and will be entrusted to Riccardo Muti who, in Piazza Duomo, will conduct the Luigi Cherubini Youth Orchestra. (HANDLE).
