(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 29 - In the first quarter of 2020, Pildell'Italia decreased by 5.3% compared to the previous quarter and by 5.4% compared to the first quarter of 2019. Istat notes this, revising downwards the preliminary estimates released at the end of April, which gave the Gross Domestic Product down 4.7% on an economic basis by 4.8% in the annual comparison. The data are correct for the calendar and seasonally adjusted effects.
These are the worst data since the first quarter of 1995, or since the start of the reconstructed time series, for which comparison is possible. Istat also calculates the change in GDP for 2020. If the economic data were to remain flat in the remaining quarters of the year, it would drop by 5.5%. Negative economic trends of the added value are found in all the main productive sectors, with agriculture, industry and services decreased respectively by 1.9%, 8.1% and 4.4%. All of them, however, but it is clear how the manufacture was the most affected. (HANDLE).
