(ANSA) - ISTANBUL, MAY 29 - The number of Covid-19 cases in Iran has risen to 146,668, with 2,819 infections in the last 24 hours, which have been going on for almost two months and have increased significantly compared to the last few days. The new confirmed victims are 50, for a total of 7,677 deaths. Intensive care patients rise slightly to 2,547, while those recovered grow to 114,931. The spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Health KianoushJahanpour reported in his daily newsletter. The Tehran government has warned that it is ready to restore some closures in the event of a new peak of the pandemic, but this measure has so far been taken only for the western province of Khuzestan, on the border with Iraq.
Other provinces in a "critical situation", added the spokesman, are Razavi Khorasan, Eastern Azerbaijan and Western Azerbaijan, Lorestan, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Hormozgan and Mazandaran.
