(by Francesco Gallo) (ANSA) - ROME, MAY 29 - Steve Carell is perfect for interpreting General Mark R. Naird, a highly decorated pilot full of ambition, but above all a mixture of prosopope and insecurity that is very reminiscent of Louis De Funes, but also the president of the U.S. Donald Trump. And so when the high officer offers to take the reins of the new sixth branch of the American armed forces, the Space Force, the general accepts and, at the same time, warns. 'Spaceforce', the new Netflix series starting on May 29 in diecipuntate, born from the collaboration between the creator of 'TheOffice', Greg Daniels, and Steve Carell, is in short a comedy focused on the adventures of a general who remembers Trump very much. Racist, ultra-conservative, obsessed with China and convinced that everything can ultimately be resolved with a bomb (for him it is a mantra word), Naird does not understand any space, but does not for this reason renounce to support his ideas. The general, it must be said, is not one who is discouraged.
He is not discouraged when he inadvertently starts a rocket of hundreds of millions of dollars crossing his legs on the desk that push the wrong button, he does not even give up when a supervisory commission accuses him of spending ten thousand dollars on an orange to give to his astronauts and, Finally, it is not discouraged even when a hated Chinese satellite steals solar panels from a US space platform. Indeed, in this case Naird conceives a brilliant plan: to use an astronaut monkey, the only outpost of the United States in that part of space, a chimpanzee who did not fail to devour a dog, his traveling companion and colleague shortly before.
In the cast of the series also John Malkovich (in the role of a skeptical chief of the scientists), Diana Silvers, Tawny Newsome, Ben Schwartz, Lisa Kudrow (opportunistic wife of the general), Jimmy O. Yang (scientist of the staff of the Space Force, suspicious for the her almond-shaped eyes), Noah Emmerich, AlexSparrow and Don Lake. (HANDLE).
