The two projects have nothing to do with it. If Space X and its whimsical CEO Elon Musk are preparing to mark the history of space by becoming the first private company to send to the stars a manned flight this Saturday evening, in another part of its development projects, the company knows some jolts.
Chess, even, like this Friday when one of its Starship rockets - a prototype on which also works Space X and which has nothing to do with the program led with Nasa to send two astronauts to the ISS via a Falcon rocket 9 - simply exploded on the launch pad.
Starship targets the Moon then Mars
According to The Verge, the incident that destroyed the prototype dubbed SN4 could be due to a fuel leak. Track actually possible at the sight of a video of the incident posted on YouTube. Still according to The Verge, no one was injured.
This is the fourth time that a Starship rocket has experienced this type of problem. It must be said that the technology tested by Space X is difficult to use, the Starship project ultimately aiming to send astronauts to the Moon or even Mars. This new failure should further extend the schedule for this very ambitious program.
