Third appointment with the ANSA Forums dedicated to the future of the book. Stefano Mauri, president and CEO of the Gems Group, founded in 2005, will be the protagonist on June 1st, with whom he will talk about the entire book chain and how publishers, booksellers, distributors and promoters have reacted to the "epochal crisis" caused by COVID-19.

    Publisher by vocation and family history, Mauri has built with the Spagnol family a mosaic of acronyms, 20 at the moment, ranging from Garzanti to Longanesi, from Salani to Guanda, from Newton Compton to Bollati Boringhieri and an important participation in Chiarelettere, which helped found. Among other things, it also has the distribution with Messaggerie and the magazine, now web channel, Il Libraio, just renewed, born in 2014 as an online version of the historical one, founded by Leo Longanesi in 1946, and then reinvented and directed by Stefano Mauri in 1989 which continues its publishing adventure also in print with 5 annual releases. Mauri is also a member of the organizing committee of the Umberto and Elisabetta Mauri School for booksellers.
    The cycle of meetings, of 30-40 minutes, conducted in the studio in Rome by the director of ANSA, Luigi Contu, in collaboration with the Culture editorial staff, can be streamed on ANSA.it.
    Monday 1 June the appointment is as always at 15.00.

    Inaugurated on May 25 by the president of the IEA, Ricardo Franco Levi, on May 28 Annamaria Malato, president of the fair of small and medium publishing Più Libri Più Liberi, vice-president of the Group of Small Publishers of the Italian Publishers Association and member of the Committee and the Presidential Council. The cycle will be concluded by the Minister of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, Dario Franceschini.
    The protagonists of the other events dedicated to the world of books, which the health emergency led to its blackest crisis, and to the revitalization strategies, will be the leaders of book publishing, in remote connection: Laura Donnini, CEO of HarperCollins Italia (June 4); Antonio Porro, vice president and CEO of Mondadori Libri (June 8); the publisher Giuseppe Laterza, president of the Laterza (11 June).
    The Forum will also be an opportunity to present the new ANSA BOOKS channel, dedicated to the sector and its many areas and protagonists.
