If the coronavirus still kills, the progression of the epidemic continues to slow down in France. This Sunday, 31 new deaths are to be deplored in hospitals in France. This brings to 28,802 the number of deaths of covid-19 in France since March 1. This figure includes deaths occurring in nursing homes, which however have not been counted in recent days by the Directorate General of Health.

The data on deaths in social and medico-social establishments will indeed be updated on Tuesday, specifies Public Health France.

14,322 people are currently hospitalized for a covid-19 infection (compared to 17,185 a week ago on May 24) and 72 new admissions were registered in 24 hours (compared to 121). 1,319 patients suffering from a severe form are hospitalized in intensive care (against 1,655 on 05/24).

Around the world, more than six million people have been infected with this new coronavirus, with a strong expansion in Brazil today, which prompted Pope Francis to express his concern this Sunday for the indigenous peoples of the Amazon.

Latin America has indeed become the main field of progression of the disease, and Brazil the fourth country in terms of deaths linked to covid-19. At least 28,800 people died of the disease that appeared in China in December, a toll that places it behind the United States (103,781 dead), the United Kingdom (38,376) and Italy (33,340) and ahead France and Spain (27,125).
