The Covid-19 crisis buried the Macron pension reform. Socially, reopening the wounds of a subject of this magnitude before 2022 would be dangerous, while the urgency is to contain the explosion of unemployment and fight an unprecedented economic crisis. Politically, the president also has an interest in putting under the carpet his project which, after two years of consultation, was adopted at first reading in the Assembly thanks to 49-3. This is due in particular to promises which have turned out to be false: that the retirement age would not change and that one euro contributed would give the same rights to everyone.
Economically, the justification for a reform is however stronger than before: with the explosion of unemployment and the fall in contribution income, the deficits will soar and the need for funding of the system, which the COR highly valued optimism at 12 billion euros over a five-year horizon will be atomized.
Not to mention that with the expected collapse of GDP
