More than 40 residents of a geriatric school in Colegiales tested positive for coronavirus, so the authorities of the residence and the City government arranged their respective transfers to medical centers for treatment, while the place was closed due to sanitary protocol.

The massive focus of contagion of Covid-19 was detected last week in the nursing home located in Céspedes at 3100, in Colegiales, where it was estimated that more than 40 people, between residents and staff, are infected .

The chronology of case detection began on the May 25 holiday, when the first infected was alerted. Between that day and the next, four other employees met and  were reported as suspects.

For May 27, the Ministry of Health returned to the site to assess the evolution of the people housed and the workers. And there they met two other residents who tested positive after the test was performed  and who were taken to a health center.

The severity of the pandemic is understood in the speed of the contagion. For the past weekend -that is, five days after the first infected- the geriatric authorities referred 20 other positive and asymptomatic people and the Ministry of Health transferred 16 others who responded to the same table.

In this way the authorities decided to apply the sanitary closure of the place. Which means that no one else can enter or exit. Inside were six negative residents who so far have no symptoms compatible with the virus and four workers.
