Covid-19: "At least $ 33 million a day lost for American museums"

Marguerite D'APRILE QUIGLEY and Emilie VANHAESEBROUCKE. - French museums are relatively fortunate to be mainly public institutions, whose survival is not called into question by this crisis thanks to the support of the public authorities. It is quite different in the United States. They are mainly private and their diversity is very great. Many have laid off or laid off staff, including the Met and MoMA in New York, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, which has put more than 300 staff on short work, or about 40% of his employees.
