The art world reacts with emotion and respect to the announcement of the death of Christo, aged 84, Sunday, May 31, 2020. While Paris expected to celebrate him with a series of events, an exhibition on his Parisian years at the Center Pompidou, the packaging of the Arc de Triomphe, an old project invented in 1962 in a small maid's room of a political refugee who had fled communist Bulgaria.

The first, which was interrupted by the health crisis and containment, will finally open on July 1. The second, which was postponed from spring 2020 to autumn 2020 for ecological reasons, was finally postponed to autumn 2021. His team and the Center des monuments nationaux assure that the project will continue as planned. Christo will not see them.
