(ANSA) - ROME, JUNE 01 - After 84 days of closure for the lockdown, "the Colosseum reopens, a place of heart and soul, a symbol for culture, Italy and the world. We want this to be a sign of hope, peace and rebirth ". The director of the Archaeological Park of the Colosseum Alfonsina Russo says this to journalists just before the entrance of the first visitors to the Flavian Amphitheater. A safe return to the public: you enter with a compulsory reservation and by purchasing the online ticket, for individuals and groups up to 14 people, who will enter every 15 minutes and will always be accompanied. At the entrance there are intelligent thermal scanners which, in addition to measuring the temperature, recognize whether or not the visitor is wearing a mask and disinfectant gel dispenser; lifts are constantly sanitized. On the square there is also a mobile health station of ASL Roma 1. "The visit is in the sign of hospitality, accessibility and security", he adds. The opening hours have changed slightly, from 10.30 am to 7.15 pm, "so as not to weigh on the hour of mobility." We begin in this phase "an experiment that will continue until 30 June, then we will evaluate whether to expand the hours and the services. We are also studying the possibility of evening visits, themed and musical events", he explains. In addition to the 16 euro ticket valid for 24 hours, the 'Art' ticket is introduced for the first time at a cost of 9.50 euro, which can be used every day from 2.00 pm: "An advantage especially aimed at residents, who will be able to enjoy the Colosseum passionately, but also of the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill ".
There are two routes available: 'The Colosseum is told' and for the Art ticket there is the Colosseum Arena route, which also requests the discoveries made in the lockdown period: graffiti tell the story of the monument in the period of abandonment, from the Middle Ages to 1600 about. For the Roman Forum, however, there are four routes: the Piazza del ForoRomano, with a visit to the Basilicas Emilia and Giulia; 'Walking on the Via Sacra; the visit to the Palatine Hill; Alleorigini of Rome.
