The National Ministry of Health, in its daily report of the coronavirus pandemic, reported on Tuesday the death of four other people , reaching 560 deaths in Argentina since the start of the pandemic. They also reported that a third of the people who became infected are already recovered.
The four new deaths are in addition to the 15 that the Ministry reported on Monday night, reaching 19 in the last 24 hours. 564 new cases were also recorded , bringing the total number of infections to 17,415.
The number of infections on the last day is the lowest since last May 20, when 474 cases were registered.
"Of the total of these cases, 974 (5.6%) are imported, 7,532 (43.4%) are close contacts of confirmed cases, 6,263 (36%) are cases of community circulation," the party reported. In turn, the number of 22 provinces that registered cases is maintained, with Formosa and Catamarca still without infections. Meanwhile, in the 14 days no new infected San Luis, La Pampa, La Rioja, Santiago del Estero and San Juan registered.
With these four new deaths from Covid-19, the case fatality rate reached 3.2%, with 12.2 cases per million inhabitants. Of the total deaths, 58.5% are men, while 41.5% are women. The average age is 75 years old, and since the death of a 14-year-old girl in Chaco, the range of deceased has expanded from 14 to 105 years old .
For their part, there are currently 271 people in intensive care , of whom 159 are in the City of Buenos Aires, 90 in the Province of Buenos Aires and 11 in Chaco, among the places with the most internees with special care.
The most encouraging fact of the day was in the number of recovered in the country: 5,709 people who had viruses were already discharged . That figure represents 33% of all confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic. In turn, 122,143 cases were discarded, almost all by laboratory tests.
According to the report, in the last 24 hours, 3,715 laboratory tests were performed, reaching 167,799. It is 3,697 for every million inhabitants.
