Following the success of the documentary series "The Last Dance" on NBA legend Michael Jordan, Hollywood is already exploring similar projects to bring the stories of other great sports stars.

"The Last Dance," which came to an end last week, was one of the most-watched broadcasts in the history of the American sports channel ESPN (it aired on both ESPN and Netflix) and was ranked at the top of the 2019 - 2020 broadcast season among the series that aired in the U.S. The success of the series opened the appetite for viewers and filmmakers alike to make similar documentary series about other spotters.

The Hollywood Reporter magazine survey found that at the top of the list of athletes the audience would like to watch is the late boxer Muhammad Ali, the only three-time champion to win the World Cup title and who was known for activism against their Vietnam war and racist scourge in America. Ali, who retired in 1984 and was Parkinson's disease until his death four years ago, was already at the center of a series of documentary and feature films. About a year ago, a documentary was aired on HBO. In 2001, he portrayed Will Smith in the movie "Ali."

According to the survey, immediately after Ali was found the mythological baseball star Baith Roth, who played from 1914 - 1935 and became an object of admiration. He died in 1948 at the age of 53, two years after becoming cancerous.

In third place in the survey is basketball player Kobe Bryant, who was killed at the age of 41 in a tragic helicopter accident four months ago. The mourning for Bryant's death caught the headlines of all the new releases and newspapers in early 2020, and it seems the audience wants to know his life story in depth.

Fourth on the list of athletes the Americans would like to watch in the Doco series is football star Tom Brady. In this case, the audience won't have to wait long, as Brady's documentary project has recently been given the green light on ESPN. The series he will be titled "The Man in the Stadium," will feature nine episodes and is slated for airing in 2021. Brady, husband of model Giselle, plans to retire at the end of next season.
