Movement leaders summoned. Rays and Castles exult: 'Let's restore legality' (ANSA)

'You must leave the building'. A communication that seems to leave no room for doubt, so much so as to say in a tweet to the Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Laura Castelli, of having "just learned that the eviction has been ordered from Via Napoleone III to Casapound. We have been working on it for a long time , legality is finally restored. @virginiaraggi ". A news that the mayor of the capital comments with satisfaction, "Finally something is moving on the eviction of the building illegally occupied by Casapound in the center of Rome. Let's restore the legality", he wrote shortly after in a tweet.

But that the road to eviction will not be very simple can be seen from the words of the Roman leader of the far-right movement, Davide Di Stefano, who instead replied that he had participated "only a meeting on the request for eviction that took place at the police headquarters with a representation of Casapound ". In short, that of 3 June could represent a decisive day for what is considered one of the historical occupations in the capital.

Just in recent days the mayor had taken pen and paper and sent two letters to the defense minister Lorenzo Guerini and to that of the economy Roberto Gualtieri asking for the eviction of two abusive occupations of Casapound Italy. It was precisely the "historic" seat of via Napoleone III, in the heart of the Esquilino district, and a new occupation of a building complex in Ostia, in via delle Baleniere, managed by an association supported by Casapound Italia. The mayor had asked the Ministry of Economy, owner of the building in Esquilino, for information on the process of clearing the property "illegally occupied for 15 years". In Guerini the first town asked "to restore legality in the Ostia properties" owned by the Air Force.

Up to now she has only been able to act within her competences: at the end of last July she had gone in person to knock on the Esquiline palace, occupied since 2003, to notify the removal of the abusive marble inscription on the facade, later canceled by the same militants in early August to avoid the forced intervention of municipal technicians. An eviction procedure started on 19 July by the state property against the Casapound headquarters, accompanied by a complaint to the Rome prosecutor's office. The Court of Auditors has calculated a tax damage of 4.6 million for omitted availability of the property and failure to collect the royalties from the state property and the MIUR.
