The start of "Fortnite" Season 3 Chapter 2 is not today. Epic Games needs even more preparation time.

  • Season 2 of "Fortnite" did not end as planned on April 30th.
  • Instead, there is an extension of around five weeks.
  • However, fans are not very enthusiastic about the decision

Some were happy, others were disappointed: Epic Games extended  the current season of "Fortnite Chapter 2" * by several weeks. The second season after the big bang in October 2019 should actually run until April 30, 2020.

"Fortnite" Season 3 Chapter 2 doesn't start today

Happy too early! " Fortnite " players have already marked today's 4th June in the calendar, because season 3 of chapter 2 should start on this day . But Epic Games is putting an end to this calculation. On the official website, the developers canceled the start again because they need even more preparation time. Fortunately, this is not delayed again by several weeks, but only by seven days. Instead of June 4, June 11 is now planned for the start of Season 3 Chapter 2 . Originally, the current season should end on April 30th. In the meantime it has been postponed several times.

Epic Games meanwhile wants to shorten the waiting time with a unique live event called "The Device", which will take place on June 6th at 8pm . Players should be there 30 minutes in advance to secure places as they are limited.

Message from May 21, 2020: "Fortnite" - Epic Games starts Season 3 of Chapter 2 in early June

But it went into extension. As the developer announced, the second season of "Fortnite Chapter 2" should  not end until June 4, 2020. In the meantime, Epic Games officially confirmed the start of Season 3 on June 4 on the official website . The update to Season 3 means that the servers will be offline for a few hours. The downtime is expected to start on June 4th at 10 a.m.

What new content the Battle Royale game has in Season 3 is not clear. Because for some time now, Epic Games has no longer published extensive information about new content. Players should rather find out for themselves what changes in "Fortnite".

Also exciting:  Valorant: Beta ends - release of the tactical shooter from Riot Games is imminent.

"Fortnite" fans are getting annoyed by Epic Games

More and more "Fortnite" players are expressing their displeasure on Epic's communication policy on Twitter . Battle Royale mode updates have not included patch notes in recent months. Players had to find out for themselves what has changed. On the one hand, this is a good way to keep the game interesting, on the other hand, fans are not particularly enthusiastic if they only accidentally learn that something has changed.

When are you going to deal with the massive lack of communication, guys? This is another non-explanation. What is the future like? I know that we are all shaken by the current events , but are you serious at the moment? "

For real? When are you going to address the massive lack of communication guys?

This is again a non-statement.

What does the future look like? I know we are all devastated by current events but are you SERIOUS right now?

"Fortnite" went into overtime in the first season

A data miner already suspected in early April that Epic Games would extend the current season of "Fortnite". At the time, however, he assumed around two weeks. It is also not the first time that the developer has run a season longer than planned.

The first season of "Fortnite Chapter 2" was already extended. The season started in October 2019 should actually end in December 2019. The conclusion was not until the end of February. The current second season of "Fortnite" has been running since February 20th and should end on April 30th.

Meanwhile, a new multiplayer shooter is on its way to knock Fortnite off the throne. "Valorant *" - a mixture of "CS: GO" and "Overwatch" - is currently delighting numerous players and streamers in a beta phase.
