Coronavirus-infected people are rising again in Italy: from 177 new cases on Thursday it has gone to 518 today, with an increase in 24 hours of 192% due once again to the numbers of Lombardy, which records 402 cases, 77 , 6% of the Italian total. An increase that is strictly connected to the increase in swabs performed, which went from 3,410 on Wednesday to 19,389 yesterday.

Pending an analysis on monitoring the trend of the epidemic curve throughout Italy, that relating to the week from 25 to 31 May, will give an even clearer picture of the effects of the reopening, the data that emerges is that to find over 500 new you have to go back a week, to 29 May.

And that there are two, if not three Italie. The first is represented by Lombardy, with its 77.6% of the total cases and a percentage of positives found on the swabs performed (excluding the control ones) which is one point above the national average (2.8% compared to 1 , 8%). Not only that: the numbers also confirm that the more swabs are made and the more infected they are, confirming that in the region most affected by the pandemic the virus still remains very present. Then there is the north west, with Lombardy itself, Piedmont (+49 cases) and Liguria (+14) which have 89.7% of new cases; finally the rest of Italy, with only another double-digit region (Emilia Romagna, with 17 new infected) and the autonomous province of Trento and five regions - Campania, Umbria, Valle d'Aosta, Molise and Basilicata - zero infection. Basilicata is the first region in Italy to no longer have patients hospitalized for coronavirus.

However, the sick are declining throughout Italy and the healed reached 163,781, 1,886 more in 24 hours. The currently positive are instead 36,976, with a decrease compared to Thursday of 1,453 patients; in intensive care there are 316 patients, 22 fewer, and hospitalizations in the other wards stop at 5,301, with a drop of 202 compared to Thursday. On the other hand, the daily increase in the number of victims, which unfortunately reached 33,774, remains unfortunately stable: there are 85 more victims (Thursday there were 88) and one in four is in Lombardy (21) while there are 9 regions without deaths: Trentino Alto Adige, Sicily, Abruzzo, Umbria, Sardinia, Aosta Valley, Calabria, Molise and Basilicata.
