(ANSA) - ROME, JUNE 08 - Damages in the countryside rise to millions of euros due to bad weather that destroyed crops and greenhouses, causing landslides and landslides in a crazy June, marked so far by 48 extreme events including violent thunderstorms, hail and storms wind, four times higher than the same period last year (+ 336%). This is what emerged from the monitoring of Coldiretti in reference to the latest civil protection weather alert in half of Italy, according to data from the European Severe Weather Database (ESWD). This is the last shoulder of the crazy climate in a spring that started with the frost that compromised the blooms and continued with the torrid heat and drought, ending with storms from north to south of the country.

The result, Coldiretti points out, is heavy damage to crops with the loss of a year of work, from corn to fruit with the collapse of national crops, from peaches to train (-28%) to apricots (-58%), up to cherries. The increasingly intense and frequent precipitations with real water bombs hit an area made fragile by the hydrogeological instability with 7275 Italian municipalities that are at overall risk of landslides or floods (91.3% of the total).
