(ANSA) - ROME, JUNE 11 - "The penitentiary system in force provides that at the age of 70 any convict may ask to serve the prison sentence to house arrest. A unanorma that dates back to the 70s of the last century, when the psychophysical conditions of a seventy year old and his life expectancy were very different from those of today. Luckily today a healthy seventy year old can still be considered 'young'. For this reason I had tabled an amendment to the Justice for consideration in the Senate Commission to raise the age threshold to 75 years. Incredibly, in addition to the Democratic Party, they voted against the four commissioners of Forza Italia, while Giarrusso and Crucioli (M5S) were voting in favor together with FdI and the League. In this way, the amendment was rejected with 16 votes contracted and 12 in favor, resulting thus determining the opposite vote of the 4 components of FI ". This was stated by the Senator of the Brothers of Italy Alberto Balboni. "Criminals thank and respectable Italians once again have more reason to worry," he concludes. (HANDLE).
