Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convenes at this hour (Thursday) with members of the Corona Cabinet to discuss a situation assessment against the rise in morbidity in recent weeks in Israel.

As for the outbreak in the education system, according to the Ministry of Education, the number of patients is 442. Also, 144 institutions are still closed out of 5,200.

This week, the government decided to postpone the line of relief planned for next week, including opening cinemas and theaters.

Yesterday at nine o'clock at night, 175 new patients were found in Corona within a day. This is a record number of infections per day since the end of April. Also, as of last night, there were 18,355 Israelis infected with the virus, including 2,869 active patients.

31 of the patients are in serious condition, including 22 respirators. 42 patients in moderate condition. In the country's hospitals, there are 112 Corona patients. So far, 299 Corona patients have died, and 15,187 Israelis have recovered. 467 health care workers in Israel are in isolation.

In analyzing the morbidity data according to the Corona's spread areas, Jerusalem is headed with 4,033 verified patients, followed by Bnei Brak with 3,009 patients, and Tel Aviv-Jaffa where 832 patients were reported. In Beit Shemesh there are 568 Corona patients, in Modi'in Illit - 437, in Elad - 403, in Petah Tikva - 341, and in Ashdod - 325.

Following the rise in the number of patients, Prime Minister Netanyahu recently ordered increased enforcement of the guidelines on preventing the spread of the corona. On Tuesday, Major-General Meir Ben-Shabat convened a special hearing, including the participation of Health Minister Yuli Edelstein and Interior Minister Aryeh Deri, which stipulated that enforcement would be enhanced through police, local authorities and the temporary population and immigration authorities.

Enforcement will now focus on wearing masks, crowds that violate guidelines, adhering to the "purple character" rules in businesses and malls, and enforcing the isolation of patients and people they have contacted. During the day, police distributed hundreds of fines to civilians who did not wear masks.
