Sitting in the room without a mask, we return to the cinema

Contraction on standards. Satisfied merchants and distributors (ANSA)

After the alarm launched by the exhibitors and the president of the Anica Francesco Rutelli on the rules for the reopening of cinemas deemed "abstruse", so as to prevent most of the cinemas from turning on the screens (the restart will be gradual anyway, ed), they arrive good news for the sector from the guidelines for the reopening of economic, productive and recreational activities, attached to the Dpcm of 11 June. There are indeed changes on some of the points most contested by operators, such as the rule that provided for the mask all the time even in the room.

Now, in the technical data sheet for cinema and live shows, it is explained that all spectators must wear a mask "from the entrance until the place is reached (for children, the general rules apply) and in any case whenever you move away from it, including the time of outflow. " It will therefore be allowed to remove it once seated and consequently it will be possible to consume the products purchased in the dining rooms, which can be reopened, always in compliance with safety regulations. In the room (where you can have up to 200 spectators) "at least 1 meter of separation between users must be maintained, with the exception of members of the same family or cohabitants or for people who according to the current provisions are not subject to interpersonal distancing ".

The protocols "welcome the observations presented by the National Cinema Operators Association which required alignment with other activities open to the public" explains Anec. And the President of the Association Mario Lorini thanks Minister Franceschini, his collaborators and the "decisive action of the Conference of the Regions" for this result. The cinema in Italy "can uniformly distribute to what happens in the main European markets, proving to be fully aligned also in terms of spectator safety and protection of our collaborators".

Great satisfaction also from distributors: "We are happy because today we can start working on the restart of important titles, which will be in the second decade of August - says Luigi Lonigro, president of ANICA distributors section -, two classic months that we need to work on a new title ". The reopening of the cinemas, he explains, will be gradual: "From June 15 we will have perhaps 10% of the cinema market. Now, in light of the new procedures, exhibitors will reorganize themselves and I think that from July 1st there will be 20% to reach Ferragosto to a market of at least 80% salt ".

On the big screen will arrive first films that had just come out before the lockdown or that debuted on the platforms, therefore unpublished in cinemas. Titles such as Gabriele Muccino's best years will return, from 15 July, or I wanted to hide from Giorgio Rights (Bear as best actor for Elio Germano in Berlin) which will premiere in cinemas and arenas on 15 and 16 August and from 20 August in a traditional exit. Films such as Bombshell will also arrive, with Margot Robbie, Nicole Kidman and Charlize Theron, Michel Hazanavicius' The Forgotten Prince with Omar Sy and Favolacce by the D'Innocenzo brothers (also awarded in Berlin). For highly anticipated blockbusters such as Christopher Nolan's Tenet (which in other countries, including the USA, will debut on July 15) and the live action version of the Disney Mulan, at the moment, there are no certainties on the Italian release dates. Instead, the animated fantasy Pixar Onward's debut on 22 July is certain: "I believe that Mulan will be the classic back to school film in Italy, so at the end of August - says Lonigro - and I always hope Tenet and Wonder Woman 1984 will also arrive in August ". For Italian titles, "the great restart will be with Venice".

According to "our indicators also on social networks, there is a great desire to return to the theater and this summer there will also be the extraordinary news of the Moviement Village, with 250 arenas that will open all over Italy; only in Rome will there be 11. We think it is the right way to ferry viewers from the lockdown to the return to the indoor theaters. We are optimistic and at work to get the market started again as quickly as possible ".
