Covid-19: up to 1,500 euros in premiums for home help in Meurthe-et-Moselle

2020-06-16T21:14:29.296Z

Around 2,000 home helpers in the department will be affected. The premium will be paid before the summer.

Apart from hospitals and nursing homes, their work was also essential. Two thousand home helpers in Meurthe-et-Moselle will receive up to 1,500 euros in bonus after working "in particularly difficult conditions" during the coronavirus crisis, the department announced on Monday.

In total, the Departmental Council will soon release 2.2 million euros to finance this "exceptional" bonus for staff in the home assistance and support services (SAAD), according to a press release.

Paid "before the summer holidays", it will vary according to "the person's working time" and "his degree of exposure to the risks of contamination" during the confinement period, according to the same source.

"Extraordinary dedication"

The coronavirus crisis "has highlighted the extraordinary dedication of these professionals alongside those of health and support for people in the medico-social sector," said the president of the Departmental Council of Meurthe-et-Moselle, the socialist Mathieu Klein, quoted in the press release.

"We will face up to our responsibilities despite a very constrained financial context" and the "incomprehensible government decision", according to Mathieu Klein, to pay "bonuses only to state and health personnel, leaving to local communities assume the expenses for other professionals ”.

"I had however written last May to the Prime Minister (Edouard Philippe) to suggest that equal before the crisis, all the trades exposed to the virus are rewarded by the Nation", recalled the elected representative from Lorraine, candidate for the Nancy town hall.

The measure also concerns administrative staff, but will be “capped at 1,000 euros and accompanied by the same attendance time criteria,” said the official.
