The nurse, on duty at the RSA in Offida, is under investigation for eight premeditated voluntary murders and 4 attempted murders of the elderly between January 2017 and February 2019, during the periods in which the nurse served at the facility. The hypothesis is that the deaths occurred by administering unexpected drugs or in excessive doses. The prosecutor Umberto Monti said, "the further aggravating circumstance of having committed the facts with insidious means (repeated undue administration of drugs, promazine, insulin, anticoagulants, for unforeseen and contraindicated doses and / or types, in order to cause deaths), and with abuse of powers and violation of the duties inherent in the function of nurse that he performed ". As a basis for the precautionary measure, "serious indications of guilt were acquired and precautionary needs were identified".
The investigations started in September 2018 thanks to a socio-health worker working at the same facility.
