Immuni downloads reached 2.502 million. This is confirmed by the Ministry of Innovation on the day when the tracking app is integrated into the health system throughout the country.
To introduce the arrival of Immuni in Italy was Bending Spoons, the company that created the app and made it available to the executive. The developers answered the questions asked by users on the social Reddit: they reiterated the protection of privacy and the importance of downloading the application ("the more it spreads, the more effective it will be") even if they have not hidden the non-infallibility of technology. Immuni records contacts between two smartphones that have been less than two meters apart for more than 15 minutes.
The Bluetooth Low Energy signal used by the Immuni app and other national tracking apps that use Apple-Google technology "is highly influenced by various disturbing factors, for example obstacles (primarily user bodies) that stand between the two smartphones. So it's unrealistic to think you don't have 'false positives' and 'false negatives', "explains Bending Spoons. "For a user to be notified, the exposure must have taken place at a distance of less than 2 meters for a time greater than 15 minutes", the company writes, specifying that these parameters have been decided by the Ministry of Health
"Immuni has absolutely no access to any geolocation data," Bending Spoons then reiterates. "On Android smartphones, due to a limitation of the operating system, the geolocation service must be enabled to allow Google's exposure notification system to search for Bluetooth Low Energy signals and save the random codes of the smartphones of the users who are there close".
