Mobilization wave

On November 8, the 22-year-old young man from Saint-Etienne sacrificed himself in front of the Crous headquarters in Lyon, after announcing his motivations in a letter posted on social networks.

He spoke of his financial difficulties - he had lost his scholarship by “tripling” his second year of license - and denounced the precariousness in which many students are plunged.

The week following the tragedy, a wave of student mobilization had spread to many universities in France, sometimes punctuated by incidents such as on campuses in Paris, Lyon or Lille.
