Developing a vaccine for the corona virus may take months and even more. However, a team of researchers from the United States maintains that a vaccine that is currently available in the market may prevent the severe effects of the virus.
The group suggests that the triple vaccine against measles, rubella and mumps (MMR), given in Israel to children one year old and in first grade, can also help prevent corona disease. The MMR vaccine is known to protect children from other diseases beyond the three viruses against which the vaccine works. That is, the theory is that the vaccine increases the general immunity of children against various diseases, and it is therefore presumed that they may also be vaccinated against the corona.
A vaccine for Corona has come into human experimentation
The MMR vaccine is actually a weakened live vaccine. In vaccine production, attenuated versions of measles, mumps, and rubella are used to produce protection against the virus in the immune system. Because it contains the viruses itself, it stimulates an immune response that is wide and goes beyond antibody production.
Paul Fidel of Louisiana State University and Tulane University's Meiri Nuberer argued that "there is growing evidence that live vaccines also provide protection against non-fatal disease-related infections. Living in this period of the Corona eruption, "they wrote.
They also claim that there is no serious risk in vaccinating most people. "If we're wrong, at least people will have new antibodies to measles, mumps and rubella. Then there's no harm," Fidel told CNN. The researchers also said vaccination can be particularly effective in protecting health care workers.

The researchers emphasized that the MMR vaccine can be used to prevent the lethal effects of the virus, but in-store and of course it is not a vaccine that will prevent the infection of Corona. "We emphasize that this is a preventive measure solely against the deadly phenomena for those who have already been exposed to the virus, but it is not a COVID-19 vaccine."
One of the theories about why children and teens have far lower rates of coronary morbidity is that they have recently received vaccines, including MMR, compared to adults who have not received the vaccine for years and even decades.
