(ANSA) - ROME, JUNE 20 - A swab to check the presence of the Covid-19 virus carried out at British airports: in case of negativity, the 14-day quarantine currently in force for those arriving in the United Kingdom is skipped. It is the pilot project which, according to the BBC, could start in a couple of weeks in the main airports of the country, with the aim of testing 500 passengers per day to start. Those who want to take the test will have to pay around 140sterlines and book the swab online in advance.
According to the proposal mentioned by the BBC, after passing immigration checks, passengers would go to an outpatient clinic inside the airport to undergo the test, then they would remain in self-isolation at their place of stay in the country waiting for the result. In case of negativity the result often emerges even in just five hours, but the goal is to be able to notify every person within 24 hours. (HANDLE).
